There’s a few different words to describe Jude. Awkward is one; werewolf another. Or even old faced. They all apply, along with other, not so pleasant ones. But his hair sets him off from the rest of the room. Just a big frizzy pile of dark brown that blocks out half of his face, really. It was an every day argument with his mother when he was still in high school for him to get it cut, or even just trimmed. But he always found a way to hide in some room, or space where his mother wouldn’t touch, due to her germ phobia. But he prefers the hair in his eyes rather than short, and flying out everywhere. It fits his face fair better than short. He’s been told he looks like a toad with it short, and spiky. And who wants to look like a toad? No one. So he keeps his dark mane, which he can claim as a loins some days, long and proud, his chest swelling slightly when someone compliments his hair, until his chest and ego deflate, acting like he gets such respects everyday. Which he clearly doesn’t get.Hometown: London, England. never got much of an accent
But the side affect of such long, shaggy, out of control hair is they can sometimes block out his eyes. Those bright, hazel eyes. Sometimes his eyes show more emotion than he can let on. He could be tip lipped, but his eyes. They would show the disappointment in his eyes. People don’t even have to get him to talk. Just cast a glance at him, and he’ll feel the eyes burning a hole in his skin, and he’ll turn to you, staring back. You can read him easier than a 17-font book. Or even just his facial features his eyebrows arch in tune with his thoughts. Like radio transmission. Or his hooked mouth. It bends in disgust or in pure joy. It’s quite hard to pinch emotions from him since his face does the talking. Minus the larynx. Some people claim to get lost in his eyes. Well. When you can actually get the whole iris, not just a glance or half of it. He really can’t understand where this person gets off. This makes him shield his eyes even more, too bashful to have someone staring into his eyes now and again. Staring at the back of his head, burning non existent holes into his flesh and bones. But into his eyes? That’s a little too creepy for his own good.
You can always tell when someone is lying when they mumble and mutter ‘um. Er. Uh yea.’ A lot in the same sentence, and when they glance to the left. It’s human nature. The left side of your brain is the thinking side of the brain. That’s how you activate it sometimes. Get the juices flowing, as his mother would say. But Jude’s some how concurred that somehow. But he still has tale tell signs of a liar. The left side of nose/cheek, inches up slightly, casing a small sneer, and his mouth will open to some extent. His voice becomes more confidant, and booming, as his lies spread thin. Most people just think he’s bragging when he lies. But his face expresses it all. Most people just don’t know him well enough, since he just moved to Australia a few years ago, from Britain.
His neck. It belongs on a giraffe. It’s quite long and slender. Slap a few brown spots on, and paint him yellow. Now you have your own personal zoo animal. But it just adds height to already minute frame of Jude. His height makes him even more awkward. Most people towers over him and his family, except for his father, but his mother and siblings are shorter. Jude reaches 5’4 on most measuring scales. Give or take a few inches or so. He’s still shorter than some boys his age, but he’s tall enough for his own liking, since he hates heights, and any taller might just make him crazy and twitchy all the time.
When Jude was about sixteen, he was driving his mother into town after she lost her license, literally lost it in the house; he was in a bad car accident, which killed his younger brother. A scar runs from his left shoulder blade, down his spine. Almost like a snake. But you can’t get his shirt off unless you’re pretty hot, or he’s swimming. But he’s been in too many accidents to count his scars.. his family calls him good luck chuck because he usually takes more damage than his class mates, or family. His body is riddled with knicks and scars because of small things, like falling from a tree, or off the monkey bars at the local park. But most are hidden in places you can’t see them. One where the sun don’t shine, if you can catch a drift.
Oh yes. His clothing. His whole five shirts and four pairs of jeans. His style is more comfort than anything. He has more clothes than he lets on. Most of it is hand-me-downs. To think. his mother sent him jeans. His sisters too! Granted, she’s curvy, so there not those faggy tight ones worn by whiney emo boys or those bands these days. But he often opts for tee shirt, or a sweater, and a pain of jeans or simple slack pants. This has never changed since he was a child. Even as a youth, Jude wore simple tee shirts and jeans. But now the tee shirts varieties from band shirt from the UK and Australia, to store brands. sometimes, if he has to dress up, or just feels like wearing it, he’ll throw on a blazer. He thinks they’re rather cool, actually. But officially. He has no fashion sense. What so ever. He’ll wear it if it’s comfy. Which means gray sweat pants and a raggy old shirt. If he can feel comfortable in it. He will wear it.

Well, Jude is a nerd through and through. It's doubtful that anyone will ever be able to change that about him, no matter how hard they tried. And believe me, has his sister tried. Apparently he's not cool enough for her or something, pssh. Jude is obviously not cool, he's supa hot. So hot... he can melt someone, just by standing next to them, chyea. Anyways. -cough cough- He's really quite the oddball. He takes a lot more after his father's friend Ken, then his father himself. Dimitree was quite the man whore back in his day, but Jude is quite far from that. Instead he just about dies in a girl's presence except for his friends and his sister. He has this habit of falling for girls who don't pay a single ounce of attention to him at all. Or he falls for the book-ish types, who are opposite him, but since they're usually really good friends with him... well, let's just say he never tells them because he doesn't want to ruin their friendship. Jude knows that maybe for once he should take a risk, but he's always so afraid of messing things up.History:
When you first meet him, Jude comes across as a somewhat shy and awkward individual, but as soon as he feels comfortable around you he opens up and reveals that he’s actually rather outgoing and energetic. In any case though he'll be a bit of a smartass and will usually speak before thinking, thus ensuring that he manages to somehow always wind up with his foot in his mouth and usually on the receiving end of some bizarre looks or, worse, someone's fist. He adapts quickly to most of his surroundings and has a very good memory, allowing him to have taken to college like a fish to water. While he's hardly what one would call studious, he's managed to maintain a steady GPA and is actually a well-liked student overall. Jude’s always been the type to slack off and still pull off good grades, which drives his friends nuts, but what can he say? It's a gift!
Jude can easily be described as a quirky, fun-loving guy who is prone to making exaggerated expressions and using funny voices when in the midst of conversation to make people laugh and put them at ease. He is especially adept at identifying with and interacting with those that most would consider outcasts, and therefore has attracted a number of loyal friends over the years. He's the type to volunteer to help out someone around campus, and will absolutely take someone under his wing and help them find their own niche. He's not the type to go out of his way for attention, but he will absolutely raise his hand in class or interrupt a lecture if he feels the need to either ask a question or to debate with the professor.
That has been a big fear for him since forever. He's not really a perfectionist, he just doesn't want to make people angry. Jude hates forcing his presence on someone or asking others for things. Even if they are happy to do whatever it is or really do like him, he just has a paranoia about that, and usually ends up getting them furious with him by asking them about every two seconds whether they are mad at him, or whether they really mind doing this for him. Jude is just about always seen with his head in a book. Often he'll forget about doing such things like eating, just because he's reading. He gets so immersed and lost in books, he just can't seem to help it. He's very klutzy and shy, and usually keeps to himself. It's really difficult for Jude to make friends because he doesn't know how to act around them, or he's just too worried about how he will appear in front of them. Jude is just very self-conscious about himself and has very low self-esteem. He's been teased a lot when he was younger and he just never quite seemed to get over that.
While he's the farthest thing from a show off, Jude will tends to do things to get the attention of the female populace, but has never really been successful when it comes to dating. This is owed primarily to the fact that when he's around a girl that he actually likes he gets tongue-tied and impossibly shy, so he does his best to ensure that he's tossed into the "friend zone" early on so he can avoid any uncomfortable situations. He's noble and will defend those who are being unjustly treated, while still remaining pleasant. He's much more of a diplomat than a fighter, but when push comes to shove he can usually hold his own in a fight. Always willing to try new things, Jude constantly reminds himself of his goals and maintains his integrity in most situations. He's the type of guy you'd go to for the honest truth, since he's able to put aside first impressions and reputations and lend an ear to anyone who knocks at his door.
Jude is aggressive when it comes to things with being in lead. During sports, he drops the joker act, and becomes this ‘monster’ as his sister likes to call it. But then again, sports aren’t one of his stronger points. The asthma that’s tormented him since he was an infant tends to pull him onto the sidelines. But he’ll then start prancing around, cheering his team one, just to keep himself out there. One time when Jude was pulled out of the game, he decided it would be funny and hilarious to strip down to his boxers, and paint the school colors on his chest, and on his stomach wrote “BEAT THOSE FAGGOTS LIKE THEY BEAT EACH OTHER!” Jude just ended up with a both a broken ego and rib, after a player from the other team tackled him down into the grass. He also was slapped with a suspension. When it comes to the girls that run around school, Jude’s different. He’s shy, and selective, often only talking to girls he knows.
A big part about Jude's personality that no one really knows is that he's bi. It's a bit odd for him to deal with. He knows that his family would be fine with it, but he's never really told anyone, and he's not quite sure as to how he'd be able to do that. He started to suspect this back in around his first year or so, but his fourth year was when he really took notice of it. It made a lot of sense to Jude and he struggled with whether he was gay or bi, since he knew that he was definitely not straight. After a year or so, he finally came to the conclusion that he was bi. It was confusing for him and he wishes that he could tell someone about it, but he wouldn't know whom to talk about it. Obviously most of the people around are very supportive. He recognizes that a lot of teens deal with this, but he always senses that sometimes it's very easy to feel like you're the most alone person in the world, and that there is no one else out there to help you. Also, people don't just go around, walking around with their sexuality on their head, now do they?
Bet you’re are expecting this. ‘it was a cold November morning in ye old London. A breathy voice rung out, as a car sped down the road, obviously over the speed limit.’ The actual scene was nothing like so. It meant more like so. The night was broken by a cry, but a cry of anger. Along the times of “BY GOD GEORGE. I SAID THE LEFT EXIT. NOT RIGHT. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN EASIER IF I LET THAT TOSSER DOCTOR FROM ACROSS THE LANE POP OUT THIS CHILD. UGH” something like that. Leaving the other two young children at home while the couple went off, after Lacey had gone into labor. After two children, she’d known it was better to be cool and collected instead of a beast. But it seemed that thought had slipped at the ignorance of her dim-witted husband of hers. But having her son born was more important. But morphine had a nice little play in that factor. After a few bust veins in her forehead from the ride alone, delivering her son seemed easy. Donning him with the name Jude Cody Matthews. Sad, isn’t it? He has three first names from his first, middle and sur name. his current siblings were being watch by his god father, Fred. His parents figured no one would get killed, there lack of his parental skills. The only bad thing would happen would be he’d let them drink his beer, or something. But apparently, Fred managed to do worse. When George had returned home to check in on the children after Jude was born, Fred was no one to be found, along with Georgia and James gone too. After a few minutes of running around, pulling hair from his head, he phoned Fred’s house in spite of himself, to hear his friends voice. After nearly strangling poor old Fred, he got a solid reason why his children where gone from his house. It seemed that Fred’s wife phoned, jabbering something about how she left the oven on, and how he needed to get home right away.Income Level: Growing up, he’s tasted it all. Low class where you scarp the dish for that last bite, and just managing to fill your stomach half way for that day, and the times where you can just eat your own weight in food. But once his family moved out to Aussie, the money wasn’t scratched over, and had to be tight. It was easy going. It got even better when Jude got his own job. Soon they didn’t have to worry about who would get the most food, or who had to lose something important just to have money for rent. Currently, Jude in comfortable in middle class, getting by, his mind not exploding on money, but on more important things. Like not being shot.
Seeing how Fred couldn’t leave his God Children alone, he popped them into the car, and went to his house. No note. Brilliant man he is. Lacey was a little less than pleased a few days later when she returned home with young Jude. After the scene of events, Fred wasn’t allowed to watch the children for a while. Pity. Things were getting tight. It was getting difficult to have Lacey at home during the day to watch the kids. Georgia and James were in school already, and Jude was three. But Lacey was pregnant again. Both her and George had always wanted a big family, and it starting to turn into one. With the news of a baby, not just one, but two, things were starting to pile up in stress. But when the twins turned two, things got worse. George was given the pink slip. He was laid off from his job as a security guard at the parliament buildings in London. Soon after moving to Churchill after jobs couldn’t be found. It was a remote country area. It was easy to have the large family. The kids could frolic in the back forest area, while the parents went about their jobs and chores. But things weren’t all lovely. After Amanda Jean was born, Lacey slipped into depression. One point she tried to herself and Amada, but George coaxed her out of it. Her misery inked on for a few months, until Jude was about nine, when his father got another job in an office. It took a load off her back, worrying about money.
George’s sister was never the motherly type. So when her baby Liberty was born, she took off, leaving the child in the Matthew’s home, forcing the family to take her in. so let’s do a head count. Lacey, George, Georgia, James, Jude, Jeremy, Zack, Amanda, and Liberty. Nine. Nine people in one house. It was time to go larger. When Jude was fifteen, they packed up again, but not for the last time, to move out to another house in Churchill. The space was needed. And it was available in the new house. The next and last member to the Matthew’s name was born. Franklynn. But his life was cut short. Lacey was helping Jude learn how to drive, so taking Franklynn in the back seat, and sitting up front with Jude, they drove off. It was late at night, when all the others were asleep. Franklynn was still on breast milk, so if he needed food, it would be simple. Driving off slowly, they hit the main road, which was pretty quiet for nine at night. After a few blocks, Jude went down a more remote road, with a forest lining it. It was a one way road. Half way down the lane, a pair of headlights shone at the family car. Jude panicked, his nails digging into the steering wheel. Slamming to the right, trying to avoid the car with the help of his mother, but the car nicked the end of the Matthew’s small car, pushing the end into a tree trunk at the speed of at least 80mph.
Waking to the soft beeping noises, Jude found himself in the hospital, Georgia, his eldest sister at his side. Clinging to his arm as he woke, Georgia let out a shrill cry, her face puffy. She explained that their mother was fine, and already home. He had slipped into a small coma, only blacking out for a week. She never said anything about Franklynn, but whenever Jude would ask, she would avoid his gaze, and questions, her eyes misting over. Finally, she broke down, and told him that Franklynn had died about an hour from the accidents. Jude was traumatized. He blamed himself for his brother’s death. It should have been him, was all that he could come up with. Returning home, Jude moped around, possibly far more upset than his mother. But his melancholy was broken with a mild case of madness, when his father announced that his company was opening a station in Canada, and they would be moving to Greenfield. He had gone nutters upon hearing news. Like barking mad. He’d began seeing things. Jameson told him it was merely his pain medication that was affecting it, and he should lay off the fags. But moving the beautiful city of Greenfield helped clear his head and thoughts. he still blamed himself for Franklynn, but not as much.
Everyone knew that George enjoyed his drink now and then. But one night, he got of his rocker with the scotch one night.. Since he wouldn’t be using the car, Jude asked to borrow it. But his father slinged back with what happened when he let him use the car at night. Franklynn. They started arguing, grunting from Jude, all he could retort not really a fan of fighting, but bellowing from his father. Getting frustrated, Jude smacked down boxes from the shelving in the room, a box containing a gun hitting last, a crack roaring out. The gun had been loaded. It was like a comedy scene. Jude was laughing his arse; George staring down at his foot, hole now in it. So after Jude finally got it together, and drove his father to the local clinic. Lucky, the bullet didn’t do much damage. But his father quickly turned his back on Jude, and called the police, claiming attempted murder, since he was still inebriated. Jude was taken to police headquarters, but his mother quickly came home to find her son gone, and a drunken husband with a bandage on his foot. Assuming the worst, she drove to the police station, and bailed out Jude, explaining. It wasn’t that simple. It took a few hours to get him out. But in the morning when charges were dropped, but those charges were still written on his permanent record.
When he turned eighteen, he bailed out like his other older siblings, and moved out into his own apartment, but his mother still phoned everyday. It can send a boy into craziness, it can. But thank you caller ID and answering machines. He started up with college, majoring in ECE, until he dropped out to help raise Liberity. His mother and Father were having trouble rasing six children, but their niece, so Jude had to take her in, untill the twins go out.
